If you delete an issue in Jira, it’s permanently deleted from your database. Similar to the way you delete something on your computer or mobile phone, the deleted item is not immediately removed and is usually stored (sometimes temporarily) in a trash or recycle bin.

Delete Issue from Project

Delete Issue from Issues List

Delete Issue from Dashboard

The process of deleting an issue from the dashboard is simple and easy to follow, but it requires that you have the appropriate permissions. You can find the option to delete an issue from the top right corner of your screen. This will open a new window, where you will be asked to confirm the deletion of the issue.
Deleted issues are permanently removed from the database. They can be recovered only by restoring your database from an earlier backup or by using an add-on such as SaaSJet’s Issue History for Jira. However, if you have deleted an issue by mistake, you can restore it from the trash can in the Jira web interface.
